Elf on the Shelf for Busy Moms (With No Time or Energy)

Elf on the Shelf
Every December, I switch my hat from graphic designer to chief elf coordinator, and suddenly my entire creative energy goes into this little guy and his shenanigans. Because let’s be honest — the Elf on the Shelf has a way of taking over the whole house. One minute you’re designing logos or editing photos, and the next you’re crawling across the floor at midnight, trying not to wake anyone as you set up a tiny “scene” involving flour, toothpicks, and questionable life choices.

And if you’ve ever thought: “How am I supposed to come up with 24 more ideas?” You’re definitely not alone.

Between school mornings, holiday events, and the busy rhythm of December, it’s easy to run out of ideas fast. But it doesn’t have to be stressful — especially with a little inspiration.

This year, our elf has done everything from sneaky missions to silly pranks to last-minute emergency setups that took me under 30 seconds (bless those). And because I know the struggle is real, I put all my favorite ideas together to help you through the month— including some ready-to-print PDFs with cute sayings you can use in a pinch, of course.

If you’re looking for cute, simple, and magical Elf on the Shelf setups your kids will love…
